ALUMINIUM COMPOSITE SIGNS SUNSHINE COAST

Premium rigid ACM signage that stays flat and lasts years outdoors.

3mm ACM panel, printed and laminated. Drilled holes, standoffs and custom shapes priced on your quote.

ACM sign prices, on screen, no form

Pick a size, single or double sided, gloss or matte laminate, and the price appears. GST and standard delivery Australia-wide are already in the number. Most sign suppliers make you fill in a form and wait a day for that.

Aluminium composite is two thin aluminium skins bonded either side of a polyethylene core. It is the material behind most quality shop, site and directional signage in Australia, and it is what you want when a sign has to stay flat, stay put and still look sharp in four years. It will not warp like ply, will not soak up water like MDF, and will not flap like corflute.

What aluminium composite signs cost

Single sided, gloss laminated, the prices the calculator returns today.

Single sided, gloss laminate. Includes GST and standard delivery Australia-wide.
SizeOneTwoFivePer sign at five
900 × 600mm$207$268$635$127
1200 × 900mm$247$474$1,121$224
1800 × 1200mm$451$868$2,004$401
2400 × 1200mm$590$1,130$2,550$510

Look at 900 × 600: one is $207 and two are $268. The second sign costs $61. Rigid signage is dominated by setup and freight, so if you have any chance of needing a spare, order it in the same run.

Gloss or matte laminate?

Both are rated 4 to 5 years outdoors. The laminate is what protects the print from UV and from being scrubbed, so it is not optional on an exterior sign.

Gloss makes colour deeper and photographs sharper. It is the default for shopfronts, real estate and anything where you want the sign to pop.

Matte kills reflection. Choose it for a sign in direct sun, one behind glass, one people read up close, or anywhere a glare would make the text unreadable at the wrong time of day. Matte also hides fingerprints and light scuffing better, which matters at door height.

Where ACM beats the alternatives

MaterialLastsBest for
Aluminium composite4 to 5 years+Permanent signs. Shopfronts, site boards, directional, safety
Corflute12 to 24 monthsShort campaigns, real estate, events, elections
Foam PVCIndoors, yearsInterior signage, light, easy to cut to shape
Vinyl bannerA few seasonsTemporary, large, rolls away between uses

The honest rule: if the message changes within a year, use corflute and save the money. If the sign is still going to be there in three years, ACM is cheaper per year and looks better the whole time.

Fixing it up

ACM drills cleanly with a normal bit, so it screws straight to a wall, a fence, a frame or posts. It is light enough that a 900 × 600 panel is a one-person job. For a permanent installation, use stainless or coated fixings and a washer, and leave a couple of millimetres of clearance in the hole so the panel can move slightly with temperature. Tell us where you want holes drilled and we will do it before it ships.

What ACM gets used for

Shopfronts and offices

Fascia panels, entry signs and window signage that has to look considered rather than temporary. This is the material behind most tenancy signage in a shopping centre.

Construction and development

Site identification boards, project boards and safety signage that has to survive the whole build, not just the first storm.

Directional and wayfinding

Car parks, estates, schools, sporting complexes. Rigid, flat and readable from a distance, in sets that all match.

Real estate and development sales

Display home boards, land release signage and anything standing for a long campaign where corflute would start looking tired.

Safety and compliance

Site rules, PPE requirements, hazard and evacuation signage. See safety signs for the standard formats.

Trade and industrial

Equipment labelling, bay numbering, warehouse identification. Survives being knocked, washed and left in the weather.

Rigid signs are usually read from further away than you think when you are designing on a screen. A good test: shrink your artwork on screen until it is about the width of your thumb. If you cannot read the main message, neither can someone across a car park.

Every file is preflight-checked by a person, and you approve a digital proof before it goes on press. On a sign that is going to be screwed to a wall for four years, that check is worth having.

Frequently asked questions

ACM vs corflute?

Aluminium composite lasts 4 to 5 years or more and stays rigid and flat. Corflute lasts 12 to 24 months and flexes. The honest rule is that if your message changes within a year, corflute is the smarter spend. If the sign will still be up in three years, ACM costs less per year and looks better the whole time.

What does an aluminium sign cost?

A single 900 x 600mm single sided gloss laminated panel is $207 including GST and delivery. Two are $268, so the second panel is only $61. 1200 x 900mm starts at $247, 1800 x 1200mm at $451 and 2400 x 1200mm at $590. The calculator on this page prices your exact size, sides and laminate.

Why is the second sign so much cheaper than the first?

Because rigid signage is dominated by setup and freight rather than material. Getting the job on press and getting a boxed rigid panel to your door costs roughly the same for one sign or two. If there is any chance you will want a spare, order it in the same run.

What actually is aluminium composite?

Two thin aluminium skins bonded either side of a polyethylene core, usually 3mm total. It is the material behind most quality shopfront, site and directional signage in Australia. It will not warp like plywood, will not swell like MDF and will not flex like corflute.

Gloss or matte laminate?

Both are rated 4 to 5 years outdoors and both are essential, because the laminate is what protects the print from UV. Choose gloss for depth of colour on shopfronts and real estate. Choose matte where glare would make the sign unreadable, for anything read up close, and at door height where fingerprints show.

How long will it last outside?

The laminates we use are rated 4 to 5 years, and in practice panels out of direct all-day sun go longer. The board itself is effectively permanent. What ages is the printed surface, so the laminate choice and the position matter more than the panel.

Can you drill mounting holes?

Yes. Tell us where you want them and mark the positions on your artwork file, and we will drill before it ships. Use stainless or coated fixings with a washer, and leave a little clearance in the hole so the panel can move slightly with temperature.

How do I fix it to a wall or fence?

ACM drills with an ordinary bit and screws straight to a wall, fence, frame or posts. A 900 x 600 panel is light enough for one person. For posts, most people use two star pickets or timber uprights with the panel through-bolted.

What sizes do you print?

900 x 600mm, 1200 x 900mm, 1800 x 1200mm and 2400 x 1200mm all price instantly on this page. Custom sizes and shaped panels are quoted, so tell us the dimensions and quantity and we will come back with a number.

Do you print double sided?

Yes, and it is an option in the calculator. Print both sides for anything on a corner, between two directions of traffic, or on a freestanding frame. Double sided is not double the price because the panel and the handling are the same.

Do you deliver Australia-wide?

Yes. Rigid panels are boxed and couriered anywhere in Australia, and the price on this page already includes standard delivery. We are based at Baringa on the Sunshine Coast and often run local deliveries ourselves.

What artwork do you need?

A print-ready PDF in CMYK at 150dpi final size, 10mm bleed, fonts outlined, and text kept 30mm in from the trim. Free templates are available. A person checks every file and you approve a digital proof before anything prints.
