LANYARDS AND NAME BADGES

Lanyards are the one promotional item people are told to wear. At a conference, a school or a work site, your logo sits at chest height on everyone in the room all day. We hold lanyards, badge holders and ID accessories with live pricing.

What custom lanyards cost

A real worked example

150 retractable badge holders come to $375 plus GST, which is $2.50 each including setup. Printed polyester lanyards typically land between $1.50 and $4 each at 100 to 250 units depending on width, print and attachment. Every product here has its own calculator so you can price your own run.

Width changes everything

Lanyards come in 10mm, 15mm, 20mm and 25mm widths. Ten millimetres is the cheapest and fits a short name. Twenty millimetres is the standard for conferences because your logo and a tagline both fit and stay readable across a room. Wider costs more, but a lanyard nobody can read from two metres away has not done its job.

Attachments and safety breaks

The clip on the end matters more than people expect. A swivel hook suits card holders, a bulldog clip suits badges, and a trigger hook suits keys. Safety breakaways are essential for schools and anywhere near machinery, and most sites will not accept a lanyard without one. Tell us the setting and we will only quote lanyards that suit it.

Printed or woven

Screen printed lanyards put ink on the surface and are the cheaper and faster option, which covers most jobs. Woven lanyards have the design worked into the fabric, so it cannot rub off and it looks more considered. Woven costs more and takes longer, and it suits a permanent staff lanyard rather than a three day conference.

What the Coast uses lanyards for

Conferences and expos

Delegate and speaker lanyards, colour coded by ticket type. Usually ordered with the satchel, the pen and the notebook in one job.

Schools

Staff and visitor ID, excursion identification and student leadership badges. Safety breakaways are mandatory here.

Construction and industrial sites

Site induction cards and contractor ID. Breakaway clips are a safety requirement around moving plant.

Healthcare and aged care

Staff identification where patients and families need to know who they are speaking to at a glance.

Hospitality and events

Crew, volunteer and access-all-areas passes, where a colour and a logo do the work of a security check.

Councils and community

Volunteer days, consultation events and library programs, where a lanyard is the cheapest way to make staff visible.

We produce and deliver

Standard production is about seven to ten working days after approval, plus freight. Tell us your deadline up front and we will only quote what can make it.

Artwork for promotional products

Send a vector file: EPS, AI or PDF with the fonts outlined. A JPG or PNG taken off a website cannot be screen printed or engraved cleanly at product size. Send your brand colours as Pantone references too, because decoration is colour matched to Pantone rather than CMYK, and a colour that looks right on screen will not necessarily mix the same in ink.

Decoration areas are smaller than people expect. If your logo has fine detail, small type or a tagline, it may need simplifying to survive at 35mm wide. We will tell you before you commit, and you will see it on the mockup at actual size. If all you have is a low resolution logo, say so and we will redraw it.

Frequently asked questions

How much are 100 printed lanyards?

Usually $200 to $400 plus GST for 100 lanyards with a one colour print, including the setup. Width, attachment and print colours move that around. Use the calculator on the product you like for a real figure.

What width lanyard should I choose?

Twenty millimetres for conferences and anywhere the logo needs to be read across a room. Fifteen millimetres for general staff ID. Ten millimetres only when budget is the deciding factor and the name is short.

Do I need a safety breakaway?

Yes for schools, healthcare, and any site with moving machinery. A breakaway lets the lanyard come apart under load instead of catching. Most sites will not let a lanyard on without one, so we fit them by default unless you say otherwise.

Printed or woven lanyards?

Printed for most jobs, because it is cheaper and faster and looks good. Woven when the lanyard is a permanent staff item and you want a finish that cannot rub off.

What is the minimum order on lanyards?

Usually 100 units for printed lanyards. Badge holders and accessories often go lower. Each product shows its own first break.

Can you supply the badge holders too?

Yes. Retractable holders, rigid card holders, soft sleeves and bulldog clips are all in the range, and it is worth ordering them with the lanyards so the clip and the holder actually match.

How long do custom lanyards take?

Around seven to ten working days for printed lanyards after artwork approval, plus freight. Woven lanyards take longer, so allow extra if you are working to an event date.
